Sharon and Clive
CASE STUDY 1: SHARON AND CLIVE'S STORY
"We felt we were too young -- but we're so glad we didn't wait."
Challenge: The Vines needed to reach a younger retirement demographic -- couples who were still active, still working, and not yet feeling the urgency to move. The typical retirement village prospect waits until a health crisis or family pressure forces the decision. Classic Group wanted to shift that thinking and reach couples who were open to moving earlier, for the right reasons.
Solution: Louis filmed Sharon and Clive at home in the village, capturing an honest conversation about their decision. At 65, they were among the younger residents -- and that was exactly the point. Clive spoke candidly about the legal complexity of moving from freehold to licence to occupy, the support they received selling their existing home in a tough market, and the freedom that came from stepping back from work. Sharon talked about family -- three daughters, three granddaughters -- and how the move gave them time back. Louis let the conversation breathe, capturing the nuance of a considered, well-researched decision rather than a reactive one.
Outcome: Sharon and Clive's story speaks directly to the prospect who is thinking about it but hasn't committed yet. Their message -- "you're better making that decision at an earlier stage for the right reasons rather than being pushed into it" -- is the most persuasive thing The Vines could put in front of a younger retiree sitting on the fence.
